Phearin Seng

Before joining Oxfam in 2018, Phearin spent many years working in the field of IT with various companies and organizations, and most recently Transparency International.
Life-long Learning to Better Support Staff
“With Oxfam, I get training via internal e-learning platform and training from external sources. Technology is moving so fast, so we have to adapt as well. My role is to help Oxfam constantly update its technology,” said Phearin.
He works mostly on supporting business operations for staff as end-users and taking care of the server room for things such as telephone and network infrastructure. In addition to his technical IT work, he also supports admin work by purchasing IT equipment and logistics. He works closely with the business managers to update users and make sure the IT network is running smoothly and efficiently for staff members in different operations.
New Technology to Support Operations
Phearin regards the achievement of system migration to EMS (Enterprise Mobility Security) to be one of his most successful and exciting moments in Oxfam. This technology has changed Oxfam from using in-house server to a cloud server. He is also happy to see his colleagues improve their understanding of IT procedures. “Because of system migration to EMS, the IT team can work faster to identify problems and find solutions to help operations. This makes Oxfam’s team more productive, that means we get to help more people,” added Phearin.
