"Oxfam is an organization that helps vulnerable people such as women, children, elderly people and informal workers. I'm thrilled to work for the organization because I want to see those people have better lives," said Phalla.
She graduated in business administration from Build Bright University in 2007. Before joining Oxfam, she worked for World Bank as a Program Assistant.
Crucial Help
Assisting the Country Director, I can gladly help make her far-reaching work more productive, especially in handling meetings and decision making," said Phalla. She is responsible for managing meeting calendars by identifying priorities and preparing documents for the Country Director. On top of that, she coordinates meetings with development partners, government and relevant agencies. She is a travel specialist who arranges all the travel plans for the Country Director as well as organizes workshops. Besides, she likes to immerse herself in fieldworks and meet with the program teams to understand different programs that Oxfam is working on.
Developing Networking and Communication Skills
Phalla wants to challenge herself, so she takes advantages of any given opportunity at Oxfam to grow and work with other professionals around her. "With this role in Oxfam, I get to work and meet people of all levels. This strengthens my communication skills and helps me work in a more diplomatic way," said Phalla.
