Vanna was born and lived in a small village of rural area in Prey Veng province of Cambodia. He studied in the field of management and international relations (Social Science). He has been working for civil society organization (CSOs) with international and local NGOs since 2001 in a local capacity for non-violence project and a country peacebuilding program when he became a local NGO leader.
Vanna had worked for food, nutrition and livelihood, disaster management, land tenure security and community natural resources and livelihood project especially his experiences on peaceful heart and active non-violence training for non-violence advocacy to response to the issues of land, forestry and fishery in Cambodia.
With almost 20 years experience, he has been working to empower individuals and communities for conflict resolution to build peace and justice in order to reduce violence and injustice in Cambodia. He has learned and gained the experiences of teamwork, NGOs network, coalition in active non-violence working group and other NGOs networking on land , housing, indigenous people and forestry for natural resources governance of Cambodians. His vison for Cambodian is to see democracy, human rights and laws that can build sustainable peace and justice for a better development.
