Short Video Contest: Juiknia Migration Stories of Hope

Short Video Contest: Juiknia Migration Stories of Hope
Wednesday, April 5, 2017 - 01:00 to Thursday, April 27, 2017 - 22:00

Do you have, or do you know an interesting story of…?

With it’s history over the past 50 years, Cambodians have a direct connection to the current refugee crisis through the many personal stories of Cambodia refugees of the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s. Domestically, this is an identity that connects Cambodians across current social and political divides.

The video competition is included in the series of Jui Knia campaign’s activities to mobilize Cambodia’s diverse community - Cambodians and foreigners - to join hands and send a message to the rest of the world about the human imperative to welcome refugees through an online petition/letter of support & personal storytelling.

Why the Stories Matter?

Did you know? Over 65 million people are displaced around the world. Old people, women, men, children, and families are fleeing war, oppression and desperation in masses. This picture reflects what we had been suffered back in 40 years ago, when many of us fled our home country, leaving our home, relatives and memories hoping to find new home where there is hope without war and killing and new life could begin. Then why should you share your story? Because we are living in a community believing we can always help each other in need. We “JuiKnia”.
