Franco-Khmer, Natacha was born in France, where she graduated in Public Law. As she was often visiting Cambodia, it struck her that she wanted to move there to help the country in its aspiration for a better future.
Compassion and passion
“I felt my life could have a much bigger impact in Cambodia, and I wanted to reconnect with simple and fulfilling things.” Natacha coordinates two projects focusing on responsible investments and business. Both influencer and strategist, she promotes responsible practices, engaging with private companies through technical support and capacity building, or advocating with the government for new policy. She also intends to raise public awareness in civil society.
“Oxfam is a feminist organization”
“The gender issue lies in every project we developed, explains Natacha. There is always a link to women’s empowerment. This is our core value.’’ Oxfam uses the gender transformative approach which aims to address the underlying causes of gender inequality by creating opportunities and an enabling environment for gender transformation to go beyond just including women as participants. “It makes you challenge the way you see the world and your own perception. This contributes to your growth and change. That’s what I like here, it is not just professional, it is about changing the world. It brings optimism when you feel you are part of the change.”
