Sreyneang Heng

Sreyneang has known Oxfam for a long time as her father used to work for the organization. She was inspired by his work and always wanted to have a share in Oxfam’s social initiatives.
She holds two bachelor’s degrees—one from RULE in finance and banking and the other from Cambodian Mekong University in English literature. She worked with World Vision under a sponsorship program for two years, and then joined Oxfam in 2012. She has worked as grant coordinator since 2015.
Fulfilling Work Environment
“I am inspired by Oxfam’s working system that encourages women to undertake critical work. It provided me the necessary time to get in step. I was encouraged by the management team and enjoy a good teamwork relationship in Oxfam,” says Sreyneang. She is responsible for grant administration involving all projects under the Cambodia office. She provides capacity building and supports to all staff handling project implementation. Her job also entails managing grants to partners and technical support at headquarters and in the Cambodia country office.
Successfully Handling Demanding Work Means Helping More People
Effectively managed grants to staff and partners lead to successful program implementation. “My purpose is to see that Cambodia gets benefits and improvement through the programs that Oxfam is implementing. In Oxfam, I have chance not only to help society, but also to develop myself by learning different concepts from NGOs, the government, our partners and the community in various fields. I have developed my people skills, communication, and flow of work,” observes Sreyneang.
