Helping the Staff to Work Effectively Means Helping Society
Vuthy is a driver for all staff including those at management and executive level when they need it. Apart from his main role, he takes time to help with logistics tasks such as visa applications, booking flights, securing quotations and procuring materials for workshops, booking hotel rooms and other accommodation. He also helps other staff with admin tasks such as preparing documents. “When I help Oxfam staff with their work, I feel proud of myself because I am helping social development indirectly. Oxfam motivates its staff including me and gives me many opportunities for self-development,” states Vuthy.
Self-Development Opportunities
“When I work with the managers, they give me opportunities to do things that I have never done before such as dealing with visa applications, booking flights, etc. Also, when I drive staff in connection with their field work, I learn a lot about each project, what they do and how they do their work.”
