Launch Cambodia First Campaign "Jui Knia, ជួយគ្នា"

Content sections

On March 31st Oxfam started the Jui Knia Campaign to support refugees around the world. For the occasion several famous Cambodian ex refugees gathered together to inaugurate the campaign.

Solinn Lim, Oxfam Cambodia Country Director, opened the event with an emotional speech remembering how critical it was for Cambodians to be accepted as refugees 40 years ago.

Since then many of them have recovered and are contributing to the growth of the country.  Jui Knia is a campaign to tell their stories and convince world leaders of the importance of accepting refugees.

As part of the campaign, the Bophana Audiovisual Resource Center has opened a video competition for filmmakers and storytellers on the theme of Cambodian refugees. Click here to read about the details: Short Video Contest: Juiknia Migration Stories of Hope

Many other organizations led by ex refugees have joined the Jui Knia campaign and were at the event to share their stories. Here you can see former refugees.

For example Phare, the Cambodian Circus, shared the plight and story of Cambodian fleeing the country through a powerful dance performance.
