Seihak worked with Oxfam as a finance assistant in Kampong Thom from 2009 to 2016. She then moved to GIZ Cambodia for nearly three years, rejoining Oxfam in May 2019 as a program finance officer.
Continuous Improvement
In her new role as finance officer, Seihak is responsible for managing grants to partners. She needs to check their invoices, system, financial policy, internal structure, bank transactions and financial reports (monthly and annual reports). She also works on project closure on the Oxfam website when a donor ends funding at the close a project. "I am proud to be on the Oxfam staff because I get a high level of capacity building and enjoy recognition from other organizations. I hope this new opportunity with Oxfam will help me to improve my knowledge and experience and get me more involved in the humanitarian work that Oxfam is doing," said Seihak.
Opportunities to Grow
"I am fascinated with working with Oxfam. It provides a good working environment, good working relationships and a friendly atmosphere. It has good HR policies, a clear structure and financial policy," observes Seihak. "I have improved since working with Oxfam in the field of accounting and finance by practicing with specific projects and systems. Also my soft skills such as good interpersonal and communication skills with stakeholders, partners and colleagues."
